Whurl Plastics is proud to work with Shear Edge, a New Zealand materials technology company developing innovative wool-fibre-reinforced plastic composites. Based in Auckland, Shear Edge has developed technology that integrates strong natural wool fibre into polymer compounds, creating high-performance materials that can reduce the amount of conventional plastic required.
Through our work with Shear Edge, we are able to support the development and manufacture of more sustainable plastic products. Their wool-based composite technology is designed to work with existing plastic moulding processes, helping manufacturers explore renewable fibre alternatives while maintaining the performance and functionality expected from plastic products.
